Many people thinks that only the mentees are learning from the mentoring journey, but that isn't true. Mentors stand to gain as well. This is because of the 2-way learning aspect of mentoring. Over the course of my journey with my mentees, I realised that as much as I have contributed to my mentees' growth, learning and development, I have benefitted as well. This all stems from my exposure to the thoughts, ideas, and discussions from the younger generation on current issues. As long as you are willing to step into the mentoring journey with an open mind, you will definitely walk away with some new found knowledge.
